UNILAG advertises Post-UTME Application for 2025/2026 Session

Rufus Okoro The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has announced the commencement of its online registration for the Post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (Post-UTME) screening exercise for the 2025/2026 academic session. According to the press release signed by the varsity's Registrar, The announcement was signed by Mrs V. Abosede Wickliffe, the application, which applies to all undergraduate programmes, would run from 28th July to 20th August 2025. Candidates who selected the University as their first-choice institution in the 2025 UTME and scored a minimum of 200 are eligible to apply. Additional requirements include five credit passes at a single sitting in relevant O-level subjects, including English Language and Mathematics. Super Falcons beat Morocco to lift 10th WAFCON Trophy

The Super Falcons of Nigeria have defeated the host nation, Morocco with a 3-2 aggregate in the final match of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) played on Saturday, 26th July 2025, making them lift the tournament's golden trophy for the 10th time.

The Nigeria's female stars staged an extraordinary second-half comeback to record the victory.

In front of home fans, Morocco got off to a dream start at the Stade Olympique in Rabat on the Saturday night.

With just 12 minutes on the clock, captain Ghizlane Chebbak opened the scoring with a brilliant strike from outside the box, curling the ball low past Nigerian goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie.

Things got even better for the Atlas Lionesses in the 24th minute when Sanaâ Mssoudy doubled Morocco’s lead.

A slick pass from Ibtissam Jraidi found Mssoudy in space, and the forward made no mistake with a composed finish into the bottom right corner. The Super Falcons appeared stunned and went into the break trailing by two goals.

The comeback began just after the hour mark when a VAR review handed Nigeria a lifeline. A handball by Nouhaila Benzina resulted in a penalty, which was coolly dispatched by Esther Okoronkwo to make it 2-1.

In the 71st minute, Okoronkwo turned provider, slipping a neat ball into the path of Folashade Ijamulusi, who drilled a left-footed effort into the bottom corner to bring Nigeria level.

Towards the extra time, Okoronkwo once again involved, delivering a clever assist to Joe Echegini, who calmly slotted home in the 88th minute to seal a dramatic turnaround.

Despite the late pressure, the Super Falcons held firm through a tense final few minutes of stoppage time to clinch a 10th title in 13 editions of the WAFCON tournament.

It's noteworthy that Nigeria’s Nnadozie and captain Rasheedat Ajibade were named Goalkeeper and Player of the tournament, respectively.
